Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

This is a starter agreement that reflects how Dorrie works today. It will be reviewed and finalized with legal counsel before public launch. Questions: sam@dorrie.app.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Dorrie, a daily companion app provided by Dorrie LLC ("Dorrie," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using Dorrie, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Dorrie is

Dorrie helps an adult child stay connected to an aging parent through warm daily check-ins and simple coordination tools. Dorrie is a consumer wellness and communication product. It is not a medical device, a healthcare service, a monitoring service, or an emergency response service.

2. Accounts

The person who creates and pays for the account is the "account holder." You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your login secure.

3. Setting up Dorrie for a parent

The account holder sets up Dorrie on behalf of a care recipient (such as a parent). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and any care recipient you set up access for. You represent that you have the authority to enroll that care recipient and to agree to these Terms on their behalf.

4. Emergency features โ€” important

Dorrie includes features that can help in a difficult moment, such as a one-tap way to place a call and a screen that can display a medication list you entered. These features are conveniences, not a substitute for calling 911 or for professional medical or emergency services.

5. Payment

Dorrie is offered as a paid subscription. Pricing is shown before you subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled, and you can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future charges and is not retroactive. Payments are processed by our payment provider.

6. Acceptable use

Use Dorrie only for its intended purpose and in a lawful way. Don't misuse the service, interfere with its operation, or use it to harm others.

7. Disclaimers

Dorrie is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dorrie LLC and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on the service, including any failure or delay of a notification, message, call, or emergency feature. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms as Dorrie grows. We'll post the updated version here with a new date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
